ACM Web Science

Web Science is the interdisciplinary study of the complex relationships between people, technologies, organizations, and society that shape — and are shaped by — the World Wide Web. Understanding the Web requires not only examining its technical architecture and applications, but also considering the social, economic, organizational, and policy contexts in which it operates.

The ACM Web Science Conference (WebSci) brings together researchers and practitioners from a broad range of disciplines to investigate these interactions and their implications. The community spans fields including computer science, information science, sociology, economics, anthropology, psychology, and related disciplines, providing a forum for interdisciplinary research into the technologies, applications, processes, and practices that constitute the Web.
