The Web Conference

The Web Conference (TheWebConf) is a premier international forum for research on the World Wide Web and its broader impact on society. It brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and other members of the Web community to present and discuss advances spanning computer science, computational social science, economics, public policy, and Web-based systems and applications.

First held at CERN in 1994, the conference has a long history of bringing together the international Web community to explore the evolution of the Web, its underlying technologies, and their effects on society and culture. Each edition is hosted in a different location and provides a forum for shaping the future of the Web through research, discussion, and exchange across disciplines. The Web Conference has been sponsored by ACM SIGWEB since 2022.
