The ACM Web Conference Steering Committee invites academic and research institutions to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to host ACM WebConf 2029.

While the call is open worldwide, Expressions of Interest from the Asian region are especially encouraged.

To streamline the initial bidding phase, the Steering Committee has simplified the process to focus on the overall vision and the strength of the leadership team. Detailed venue contracts and comprehensive budgets are not required at this stage.

EOIs should be 4–6 pages in length and include:

• Host City and Venue – A description of the proposed location, including international accessibility, the local web research and innovation ecosystem, accommodation options, and a suitable venue capable of hosting 800–1,200 participants.
• Proposed Leadership – Identification of the General Chairs. At least one lead chair must be affiliated with a non-profit academic or research institution, hold a valid ACM membership, and have prior experience with the Web Conference series and other major ACM events.
• Institutional Support – Preliminary indications of support from the host institution and potential collaborations with local industry or government stakeholders.
• Eligibility and Commitment – Confirmation that the hosting organization is a non-profit academic or research entity and will operate in accordance with ACM SIGWEB policies, best practices, and deadlines.

Timeline

• EOI Deadline: June 1, 2026
• Shortlist Notification: July 2026
• Full Proposal Deadline: January 2027
• Presentation to the Steering Committee: During WebConf 2027 in Dublin (May 10–14, 2027)
