Since its first edition in 1992, the International Conference on Advanced Visual Interfaces (AVI) has become an influential space for encounters among scholars and practitioners interested in interfaces, interactions, and experiences. Rooted in pioneering research on visual interfaces characterized by a distinctive attention to the human factor, the conference has evolved across the different waves of Human-Computer Interaction. It has addressed the pragmatic and hedonic needs of heterogeneous groups of users up to the current challenge of self-actualization. Creativity is a core behavior that leads to the realization of a person’s full potential, and the explosion of generative AI presents both opportunities and challenges to human creativity. They address fundamental issues related to agencies, interfaces, and ethics. AVI 2026 will be held in Venice, Italy.
