The latest issue of the SIGWEB Newsletter is available on ACM Digital Library. Our new quarterly newsletter publication aims to communicate with our members news, interviews and events that are of interest to people in the field of Hypertext and Hypermedia. An archive of past issues of the newsletter, in digital form, is available through the ACM Digital Library.
A characteristic that makes SIGWEB special and differentiates it from other ACM SIGs is that it has created a dynamic atmosphere where scientists, systems designers, end-users, writers, and people from the humanities all feel welcome and can come together to discuss hypertext and the Web in all its forms. An underlying source of this "buzz" that surrounds any SIGWEB meeting (in both the physical and virtual worlds) is that there has always been a willingness of SIGWEB members to volunteer and foster a community spirit.
SIGWEB offers grants of up to $5.000 to support small research events that are relevant to research communities within the scope of SIGWEB. Examples of such events are workshops, tutorials and hackathons, but also research exchanges, guest lectures and community outreach events.
As conferences are social events, SIGWEB actively supports additional events to be organized surrounding our conferences. Examples of such events are summer schools for students, exhibitions to reach out to the local community of researchers or laypersons, technology policy activities, and special gatherings.

SIGWEB is committed to promoting fair access to its conferences and to achieve this goal, SIGWEB is increasing and broadening the student support offered at these events. This initiative aims to reduce financial barriers for (all) students as well as early researchers from economically developing countries, thus enabling broader participation in conferences and creating a more inclusive academic community.
The total grant amount allocated for each conference is $10,000. The size of the award to an individual may vary depending on various factors such as the number of qualified applicants or the distance traveled. For application details, please consult the conference website.
