HT 2008 took place in Pittsburgh, PA, a city which truly embodies the impact of technology change. 

SIGWEB Reception

Pittsburgh was home to TWO conferences that explored the fields of technology and users.  Just prior to the opening of HT 2008, the School of Information Sciences hosted JCDL 2008 -- in the same conference location!  This reception was for SIGWEB colleagues as well as researchers and students from both HT 2008 and JCDL 2008.

Conference Dinner

The Hypertext Organizing Committee arranged for all conference attendees to ride the historic Duquesne Incline to the elegant LeMont restaurant, which sits atop Mount Washington. LeMont offered not only a stellar menu and wine cellar, but amazing views of the City of Pittsburgh with its rivers and bridges.  This dining experience is part of your conference registration. 

Cultural Activities for Hypertext 2008

HT 2008 invited conference attendees to stay a little bit longer in Pittsburgh and enjoy the cultural amenities of our city.  We suggested two options:

Pittsburgh Symphony Pops featuring Chris Botti

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has performed to rave reviews and enthusiastic audiences throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The concered featured trumpet phenomenon Chris Botti.

Fallingwater

This house was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935 for Pittsburgh department store owner Edgar Kaufmann Sr. and was used as a mountain retreat by his family. This building was voted the most important building of the 20th century in a poll conducted by the American Institute of Architects.
