Student Research Competition (SRC)

Hypertext 2008 participated in the ACM Student Research Competition sponsored by Microsoft Research.   All invited students competed in a conference competition for the best presentations, with the winners eligible for a spot in the SRC Grand Finals. 

The winning Graduate Student submissions were:

  • 1st place: Context-based URL Summarization. Yves Petinot, Columbia University
  • 2nd place: A Thematic Model for Narrative Generation. Charlie Hargood, University of Southampton
  • 3rd place: PITTCULT: Recommender System using Trusted Human Network. Danielle Hyunsook Lee, University of Pittsburgh
