Conference Overview

Metainformatics concerns work about computer science. Work in metainformatics can be about developers, computer users, or those influenced by computer technology. For example, development environments aimed at making system designers more effective, infrastructure functionality intended to be made available to all computer users at all times, or reflections about the politics of computing all address the practice of computer science. We mean to include a wide variety of researchers and practitioners under this rubric, especially those who engage, in the words of legendary Doug Engelbart, in "B-level" and "C-level" work -- that is, those people whose jobs concern how other people do their jobs, especially with respect to how they use computers to do their work.
