ACM SIGWEB Officers and Executive Committee

In October 2006, a new executive committee was formed. The new executive, operating under the leadership of the new Chair, Ethan Munson, are all well-known and respected among the Web and Hypertext communities, and bring a range of valuable experience to the SIG.

Our mission is to build a dynamic and exciting service organization for researchers, professionals, academics, and students working with or interested in hypermedia and the World Wide Web.

We look forward to your participation in the new SIGWEB!

About:
Maria da Graca Campos Pimentel's current research is related to the investigation of distributed hypermedia systems and their relation to capture-based systems. This research is under development in the context of several projects. The TIDIA-eLearning Project Project is a cooperation effort among 15 research laboratories from the state of Sao Paulo. The aim is to build software infrastructure for supporting learning activities in the context of a high-speed networks. Hewlett-Packard's Applied Mobile Technology Solutions in Learning Environments Project includes the investigation of opportunities of exploiting mobile equipment such as tablet PCs and PDAs in learning environments, in particular in the context of capturing the live experiences in classrooms, laboratories and other educational settings towards automatically registering those experiences as documents in the Web. There is also the InCA-SERVE Project, which investigates the use of ubiquitous infrastructures, augmented with hypermedia document engineering, in learning environments.
